VIRUS TESTING RESULTS
SPAR FILTER achieved a 99.92% reduction of airborne MS-2, a surrogate for COVID, Influenza, SARS, Norovirus, and other respiratory viruses, in a large chamber. It also deactivated 98% on the surface of the filter.
MS-2 is one of the smallest genomes, making it very difficult to capture and deactivate.
BACTERIA TESTING RESULTS
SPAR FILTER achieved a 99.99% reduction of airborne S. aureus bacteria in a large chamber.
S. aureus has been long recognized as one of the most important bacteria that cause disease in humans. S. aureus causes staph infections, bloodstream infections, pneumonia, and bone and joint infections.

TEST SYSTEM
The details of the aerobiology chamber have been published (Sattar et al., 2016). The chamber (30 m3) was built to comply with the guidelines from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
RESULTS
Customized testing at NC State Microbiology Lab showed over 99% deactivation of a surrogate of COVID-19 as it pass through the FIL-TEX™ filter.
